In this first volume of the four part series, a terrible devastation has befallen Caelumen.  Thaddeus, the King of Caelumen,  instructs his Golden Butterfly, Auriana, to fly to Ancienna's Rose Sea Coast to see Thanu the Cat.  She tells him he must undertake a hazardous journey north to The Blue Mountains of Lumenesia to help his dearest friend, Atterbury the Lumenist.
